Validity of certificate of fitness
  • For commercial vehicles the certificate is valid for 6 months.
  • For private vehicles the certificate is valid for 1 year.
  • The entire process must be redone when renewing the certificate.
  • Renewal may be done up to 30 days before the date of expiry, or on the date of expiry.
  • Any changes made to the features of a vehicle must be noted on the documents. This may result in the re-certification of the vehicle. These include: colour, body type, and engine).
