The Requirements for Use of a Provisional Driver’s License
  • An instructor must be present in the vehicle at all times (that is someone with a valid driver’s license), except when learning to operate a motorcycle.
  • No passengers should be in the vehicle with the instructor and the learner.
  • You must have the provisional driver’s license in your possession at all times while operating a motor vehicle.
  • The learners sign, (a red L on a white background) must be clearly displayed on both the front and rear of the vehicle at all times.
  • The vehicle must be licensed and insured, with the specification that it can be used by someone other than the owner.
