| Requirements for Obtaining a Driver’s
License |
- Exam Fee $500 (receipt).
- A completed general/private application form. On
the general license application form, there is a section
that must be signed by a doctor.
- 3 Passport size photographs signed by the same Justice
of the Peace (J.P.).
- Provisional Driver’s License (Learner’s).
- Must be at least 18 years old on last birthday.
- A licensed instructor to accompany you.
- Tax Payer Registration Number (TRN).
- The type and size motor vehicle you wish to be licensed
to operate (this must also be written onto the application
form).

| The Steps in Obtaining a Driver’s
License |
- Take all the relevant documents listed above to
the Collectorate of Taxes of your choice.
- Have all the documents checked at the information
desk.
- Pay the exam fee, $500.00, and collect a receipt.
- Take documents and receipt to the examination depot
of your choice.
- Make an appointment to do the exam (this date will
be approximately 2-3 weeks after the date you make
the appointment).
- If you pass the exam return to the Collectorate
of Taxes with your certificate of competence.
- Go to the motor vehicle and license department and
hand in your certificate of competence.
- Pay the license fee to the Accounts Department (General
- $2300.00/Private - $1550.00/Motor Cycle - $1300.00)
and collect a receipt.
- Take receipt to the Motor Vehicle and License department
and have your picture taken.
- You will receive your Driver’s License within
an hour.
