Crichton Automotive Ltd. Was opened in July 1996.
The company started off with one person, Kirk Crichton, as the brainchild.
At that time, the changes in the import policies as it relates to deregulation
and privatization enabled a number of persons to import deportee vehicles.
Due to the large volume of requests by taxi drivers and the increase
in the number of auto dealerships the market had become saturated and
a price war had begun.
In order to be competitive, Mr. Crichton needed
to become the most effective in terms of pricing strategy. During these
stages, Kirk Crichton was working from his briefcase and sending himself
through school. He began by selling to his friends and acquaintances,
and by doing so realized there was an opportunity for expansion. He
seized this opportunity formed a partnership with Ray Rose out of which
grew
the Crichton Automotive Ltd. Which Jamaicans have come to depend on
for quality vehicles today. |
